When we face such topics as "Western Development", "Return Farmland Into Forest", "Ecotourism", do we really clearly know how to realize our aims?
    In fact, as pushing forward the ecology construction, we have some common misunderstanding, especially the local officials, and we need the renewal of knowledge and conception. To know what's the reality, understand the local difficulties, spread new ideas and environmental knowledge, are the mission of our young volunteers.
    For the above, we have held a national university students ecology investigation activity named "what can we do for the western ecology protection", attended by the student volunteers, local officials, and local people, to show the true aim and meaning of ecology protection and the return farmland into forest. It is that only trees standing on the hill, or timber for cutting, or fruiters for plunking, or economic trees for money¡­¡­is not the excellent goal of ecology.
    Through field survey, we corrected the misunderstanding in the ecology work, and managed to find a sustainable way suited to the local conditions in order to effectively promoting the ecology work in the Western China.
    During the activity, the selected students attended the training workshop together with local officials given by ecological experts, and then visited Dujiangyan, Ziping Pu, Longxi-Hongkou Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province for investigation, research, and education.
